Krisztina Mézga is the eldest child of the Mézga family. An annoying buckfis character. She keeps strumming her guitar (which Aladár always breaks) and wrapping her hair with newspaper. He is friends with a mafia cat. In episode 12 of the first series, she is the lead singer of a beat band. She often giggles. She is repeatedly revealed to be quite silly. At school, she deliberately strives to fail, even spelling “stupid” with a “j”. In an episode of the second series, however, Aladar discovers that Kriszta speaks quite intelligently in her sleep. He often makes a cynical remark about a situation, which usually only he laughs at. His characteristic phrase: “Mum, tell him!” when something doesn’t happen the way he wants it to. Aladar calls him “wet-brained” or “hysterical Kristi.”
Aladar, aged 12, is blessed with genius: he tinkers with devices that can take his pretzel on space journeys, and sometimes he contacts his 30th century descendant (his cub-grandson, MZ/X, or “Buddy”) and asks him for various modern items. But only rarely do his family members get to grips with the new tools and opportunities, and then it’s his turn to pull them out of the trap.
Aladar’s only loyal ally is his dog Blöki, who sometimes helps him in his experiments. Other members of the family include his fearlessly strict and somewhat clumsy father (Géza Mézga), his kindly but not very strong-minded mother (Gézán Mézga, née Paula Rezovits) and his slightly ditzy sister (Kriszta) and her cat (Maffia). Other important characters are the irritable neighbour (Máris) and the only verbally mentioned Hufnágel Pisti, Paula’s youthful suitor, whom she regrets not having married, as she says at the end of each episode.
